Denali Wilderness Lodge to be Auctioned Denali Wilderness Lodge is for sale. The successful buyer will walk away with over 25 log buildings, up to 20 acres of land on three parcels, a gravel airstrip, furnishings and equipment, and a small piece of Alaska's pioneer history. The remote fly-in only lodge is located in the upper Wood River valley amidst some of the state's most spectacular scenery in the Alaska Range near Denali National Park. The popular fly-in adventure lodge has historic roots. It was originally established in 1907 as a hunting camp to provide meat for railroad workers and miners. Through the years it has been a kids camp, a retreat, a homestead, a hunting lodge and an adventure lodge. For the past 12 years, Alaska tourists have visited, taken horseback rides with wranglers, hiked the nature trails with guides, viewed the moose and other wildlife, and photographed the unique log buildings in this wilderness setting. Everything on the property was hand built from local logs or flown in, because the nearest road is about 30 miles away. The well-maintained buildings include 22 guest cabins, staff quarters, main lodge, horse barn & corral, theatre, owner's chalet, and various outbuildings. All furniture, fixtures and equipment are included. The lodge accommodates up to 60 guests and 20 staff. Sham Idnani, President of Aurora Properties, LLC, is selling the property to reduce his workload. "It takes a lot of energy to operate a major fly-in lodge. I have other investments that compete for my attention, and now I have three grandchildren that I want to spend time with. It's time for me to step aside and let the lodge re-create itself with a new owner. Denali Wilderness Lodge is so compelling that it is reborn every time it gets a new owner. I am fortunate to have been a part of the life of this stunning property." The Idnani's continue to own Denali Backcountry Lodge, Denali Cabins, Alaska Denali Tours and operate the Denali Backcountry Adventure.
